Jalen Hurts Celebrates Super Bowl Victory at Disney World
Jalen Hurts, the standout quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles and Super Bowl LIX MVP, embraced the cherished tradition of visiting Disney World following his team’s victory. On Monday, he was spotted riding a float during the Main Street USA parade at Magic Kingdom, surrounded by enthusiastic Eagles fans.
In the Super Bowl, Hurts delivered an impressive performance, throwing for 221 yards, securing two passing touchdowns, and adding a rushing touchdown in the Eagles’ commanding 40-22 win over the Kansas City Chiefs, earning him the MVP title.
The custom of Super Bowl MVPs celebrating at Disney World began in 1987 after the New York Giants triumphed over the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XXI. Phil Simms, the MVP of that game, famously declared in a Disney commercial, “I’m gonna go to Disney World.”
Hurts’ own commercial showcased his near-touchdown pass to Jahan Dotson in the first quarter, followed by the Eagles’ successful “tush push” that led to their first score. It also highlighted his precise pass to Devonta Smith for a touchdown. When asked about his next move, Hurts enthusiastically stated, “I’m going to Disney World!”
Hurts silenced his critics with his stellar performance, especially after the Eagles’ previous Super Bowl appearance ended in a loss to the Chiefs. Last season, despite a strong start of 10-1, the team faced challenges and exited the playoffs early. Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni noted that the adversity Hurts encountered in 2023 played a crucial role in shaping the team’s success in 2024. “Adversity has a tendency to bring you together,” he remarked, expressing gratitude for the lessons learned from last season.
Hurts acknowledged the significance of the journey in achieving success, emphasizing that teams and players will ultimately be evaluated based on their performance on the field.
