The 2025 season is not starting well for the New York Jets. Following a disappointing finish last season, owner Woody Johnson initiated a significant overhaul of the coaching staff and ended the Aaron Rodgers era. However, the NFLPA’s annual report cards delivered another setback for the organization on Wednesday.
The report, which gathered feedback from 1,695 active players, ranked the Jets 29th overall, a notable decline from last year’s 21st position. Key issues highlighted in the report included the team’s food program, with players feeling that management worsened conditions instead of addressing their concerns. The report noted that the team’s former dietitian left to join the Kansas City Chiefs.
A particularly revealing aspect of the report was the players’ perception of Johnson. In the ownership category, he received an F grade, ranking last among all teams. The report indicated that players believe Johnson does not foster a positive team culture, placing the Jets at 32 out of 32 in that regard.
Looking ahead, Johnson will face scrutiny next season. The trade for Rodgers did not meet expectations, and new general manager Darren Mougey, along with new head coach Aaron Glenn, aims to bring about change. Glenn stated, “Every decision that me and (Mougey) make is to win and to win now. This is not going to be the last decision I make that’s going to upset some people, and that’s OK. But as men, we talk about it. We make sure we keep it in-house, and that’s what we’re going to continue to do.
