**Joy in Thailand as Same-Sex Couples Can Finally Marry**
Thailand’s LGBTQ+ community has fought for decades for the right to equal marriage. On Thursday, 878 district offices across the nation opened their doors to same-sex couples wishing to register and marry. This landmark decision makes Thailand the first country in Southeast Asia to recognize equal marriage rights, and only the third in Asia, following Taiwan and Nepal.
