**Ritesh Agarwal Highlights Growth of Spiritual Tourism in India Amid Maha Kumbh Mela 2025**
During the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, Ritesh Agarwal, founder and group CEO of OYO, shared insights on social media regarding the increasing trend of spiritual tourism in India. He noted that OYO’s hotel booking data indicates a significant rise in this sector and outlined the company’s strategy to cater to this growing demand.
“Spiritual tourism in India is on the rise, and OYO is committed to enhancing your travel experience. By the end of 2025, we plan to introduce 500 hotels across 12 key pilgrimage sites, ensuring that your faith-based travels do not compromise on quality accommodation,” Agarwal stated.
He emphasized that this initiative goes beyond merely expanding hotel options; it aims to meet genuine market demand. With projections estimating that religious tourism will generate $59 billion (approximately ₹1,500 crore) in revenue by 2028 and create 140 million (14 crore) jobs by 2030, Agarwal expressed enthusiasm about contributing to this expanding movement.
“Spiritual destinations are now appealing to all age groups, from seniors seeking peace to a growing interest among the youth. Whether it’s your first pilgrimage or an annual ritual, our mission is to ensure your journey is as seamless as it is significant. Where will your next pilgrimage take you?” Agarwal inquired.
