Meta Platforms, Inc. is set to lay off nearly 3,000 employees, which represents about 5 percent of its workforce, effective February 10. This decision, reported by Moneycontrol, is based on a memo obtained by Business Insider. The layoffs are part of the tech giant’s strategy to adopt a more stringent approach towards underperforming staff while also preparing for significant investments in artificial intelligence throughout the year. In a memo to employees in January 2025, CEO Mark Zuckerberg emphasized the company’s intention to “raise the bar” and swiftly address low performance.
