**Maharashtra’s Municipal Elections: A Resounding Victory for Mahayuti Alliance**

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed gratitude to the people of Maharashtra for their overwhelming support in the recent municipal council and nagar panchayat elections, where the ruling Mahayuti alliance achieved a significant victory. In a post on social media, PM Modi emphasized that this outcome reflects the public’s trust in the BJP and the Mahayuti’s commitment to people-centric development.

“Maharashtra stands firmly behind development! I am indebted to the people of Maharashtra for showing trust in the BJP and the Mahayuti in the municipal council and municipal corporation elections. This is a reflection of the trust the people have shown in our people-centric development approach,” stated the Prime Minister. He assured that the government would work with renewed vigor to meet the aspirations of every citizen and praised the grassroots efforts of BJP and Mahayuti workers.

As of now, the State Election Commission has not officially announced the results of the civic polls. The counting of votes for the elections of presidents and members in 286 municipal councils and nagar panchayats across Maharashtra commenced at 10 am on Sunday.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis highlighted that the BJP set a record in local body elections, with 48 percent of councillors winning on the party symbol and BJP candidates elected as presidents in 129 municipal councils. He noted that nearly 3,300 BJP councillors were elected, and Mahayuti nominees secured the president’s position in approximately 75 percent of local bodies. Fadnavis attributed this success to the alliance’s development agenda and organizational strength, asserting that the BJP has once again emerged as the single-largest party.

Union Minister JP Nadda congratulated NDA workers for what he termed a “historic” victory for the Mahayuti alliance, stating that the mandate reflects unwavering public support for the welfare-oriented policies of the double-engine government under Modi’s leadership. He extended his congratulations to Fadnavis and Maharashtra BJP president Ravindra Chavan.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also expressed gratitude to the people of Maharashtra for their robust support for the Mahayuti in the Nagar Panchayat and Nagar Parishad elections. He described the victory as a blessing for the NDA’s vision of inclusive welfare at both the Centre and the state, congratulating Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, and NDA workers.

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar remarked that the election results signify not just a win but a reaffirmation of public trust in development-oriented governance.
