Ricky Gervais honors the ‘beautiful’ dog from After Life following the passing of his canine co-star.

Ricky Gervais has paid heartfelt tribute to his “beautiful” on-screen dog, Vislor Antilly, affectionately known as Anti, who starred in his acclaimed TV series After Life. The British comedian and actor described Anti as a “beautiful soul” with whom he instantly connected. Gervais expressed that the German shepherd played a significant role in making After Life his “favorite filming experience of all time,” and he cherished telling her “a hundred times a day” that she was a very good girl.

Antilly portrayed Brandy the Dog in all 18 episodes of the Netflix comedy, which follows local newspaper reporter Tony, played by Gervais, as he navigates life after the death of his wife. Throughout the series, which aired for three seasons from 2019 to 2022, Tony is frequently seen walking Brandy, who serves as a source of comfort and support, preventing him from taking drastic actions.

A statement on Antilly’s Instagram account announced her passing, stating: “Vislor Antilly, After Life’s Brandy, has sadly passed away. We already miss her terribly. Sleep well xxx.” She passed away peacefully at her home in Oxfordshire at the age of 13.

In response to the news, Gervais expressed his sorrow, saying, “This is such sad news. Anti was a beautiful soul.
