**Wynne Evans Issues Apology for Inappropriate Language During Tour Launch**
Wynne Evans, the 52-year-old Welsh opera singer known for his role in GoCompare insurance advertisements, has publicly apologized for using “inappropriate and unacceptable” language towards a woman during the launch of the Strictly Come Dancing live tour. The incident occurred on January 16, as reported by the Mail On Sunday.
In a statement, Evans expressed regret, saying, “My language was inappropriate and unacceptable for which I sincerely apologise.”
A spokesperson for the Strictly live tour and BBC Studios stated that they were unaware of the remark prior to the incident and had not received any complaints. They emphasized that such behavior is not tolerated on the tour.
Evans, who has been performing with professional dancer Katya Jones, missed a recent performance in Glasgow due to an ankle injury. He shared updates on his recovery via Instagram, stating, “Ankle’s getting a bit better, it was great to be able to sing in Glasgow tonight, even if I couldn’t dance.”
This apology follows a previous incident in October, where both Evans and Jones addressed a “joke” involving a physical interaction during their performance, which they described as a “running joke.”
In response to various allegations of bullying on the show, Strictly Come Dancing has implemented the presence of chaperones during rehearsals to ensure a safe environment for all participants.
