**Valentine’s Day Sales: Insights and Trends for 2025**

This year, Swiggy and Swiggy Instamart reported impressive sales figures for Valentine’s Day, with their platforms recording 581 chocolate orders and 607 cake orders per minute on February 14, 2025. Notably, restaurant bookings and food orders were not only concentrated in major cities like Mumbai and Delhi but also saw significant activity in tier two towns such as Bhubaneshwar.

Phani Kishan, co-founder of Swiggy and Swiggy Instamart, shared the platform’s Valentine’s Day statistics on social media, highlighting the surge in orders. “Our analysts have crunched the numbers, and the Valentine’s Day rush is mad! At peak, we saw 581 chocolate orders per minute and 324 rose orders per minute. If there was ever a stock market for love, this was the bull run,” Kishan stated. He also noted that in just 24 orders, Delhi customers purchased 174 chocolates, totaling ₹29,844, humorously commenting on the enthusiasm for gifting.

Kishan further revealed that chocolate sales doubled compared to the previous year, with Swiggy Instamart delivering twice as many chocolates by 10:53 AM than last Valentine’s Day. “Right now, we’re at 5x the orders of a regular Friday—clearly, sweet surprises are the way to go!” he added.

Rohit Kapoor, CEO of Swiggy, reported a remarkable increase in restaurant bookings, stating that Swiggy Dineout experienced a 241% rise compared to last Valentine’s Day. He pointed out that 75% of these reservations were for two people, emphasizing the intimate nature of the celebrations. Kapoor also highlighted that smaller cities were actively participating in the festivities, with Bhubaneshwar seeing a 279% increase in dine-out bookings compared to the previous week.

Kapoor noted that cities like Ludhiana, Amritsar, Shillong, Noida, and Agra were leading in food delivery spikes, challenging the notion that love celebrations are limited to big cities. He also mentioned that Bengaluru outperformed both Mumbai and Delhi in Dineout bookings, showcasing its prominence in Valentine’s Day celebrations.
