**VFlowTech Secures $20.5 Million to Expand Renewable Energy Storage in India**
VFlowTech, a Singapore-based provider of energy storage solutions, has successfully raised $20.5 million in a funding round led by Granite Asia. This investment aims to bolster the company’s expansion into India’s renewable energy sector, with a particular emphasis on long-duration energy storage and AI-driven energy management systems. The funding round also saw contributions from Antares Ventures, EDBI, MOL PLUS, PSA Ventures, and existing investors such as İnci Holding, UntroD Capital, Pappas Capital, Wavemaker Partners, SEEDS Capital, and Entrepreneurs First.
The capital will be utilized to enhance VFlowTech’s 100 MWh manufacturing facility in India, transforming it into a gigafactory. This upgrade will facilitate the increased deployment of Vanadium Redox Flow Batteries (VRFB) throughout the country. Additionally, VFlowTech plans to expand its workforce in engineering, research, and operations to support the production of battery energy storage systems (BESS) that are specifically designed for India’s grid conditions.
Avishek Kumar, co-founder and CEO of VFlowTech, stated, “With our AI energy platform, we intend to build digital brains for India’s energy backbone, while scaling our local manufacturing capabilities and creating high-quality jobs in the country.” The company is already engaged in several grid-scale and microgrid projects and is in advanced discussions with renewable energy developers and industrial clients in India to deploy up to 1 GWh of VRFB systems in the coming years.
Anand Anupam, chief commercial officer of VFlowTech, emphasized the importance of building long-term partnerships in India, stating, “We’re demonstrating how clean, smart storage can power entire cities, industries, and states.” Founded in 2018, VFlowTech specializes in vanadium redox flow battery systems and hybrid batteries designed for long-duration energy storage, positioning itself as a key player in the renewable energy landscape.
