Vijay is at the forefront of a large rally organized by the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam in Madurai, in preparation for the 2026 elections.

**Vijay’s Grand Entrance at Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam’s Second State Conference**

As the special anthem for Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) resonated through the air, party president and renowned actor Vijay made a striking entrance on stage. He walked down a lengthy ramp, engaging with the enthusiastic crowd of thousands of supporters and fans gathered in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, while also greeting party leaders seated on the dais.

The second state-level conference of TVK, founded and led by actor Joseph Vijay, commenced with vibrant cultural performances by folk musicians, eliciting cheers from a sea of supporters who had been present since the previous night. The venue, located in Parapathi, Madurai district, was equipped to accommodate over 150,000 attendees, with crowds beginning to gather early Thursday morning, eager to see their leader.

Vijay, aged 51, is set to address his supporters while traversing a 300-meter-long ramp constructed through the center of the venue. To ensure safety and order, hundreds of security personnel have been positioned along the ramp to prevent the crowd from surging forward.

In February 2024, Vijay, one of Tamil cinema’s most celebrated figures, announced his foray into electoral politics by launching Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam. Eight months later, the party held its inaugural state-level conference in Vikravandi, Villupuram district, on October 27, marking a significant milestone in his political journey.

This second state conference comes just months before the anticipated 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, expected around April-May. Political analysts are closely monitoring the messages Vijay will convey to his supporters, especially given his vocal criticism of the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at the national level.

Vijay arrived in Madurai late Wednesday to a warm welcome from fans and party workers who had gathered in anticipation of the event. Notably, an incident occurred on Wednesday when a large flagpole, intended for hoisting the TVK flag, collapsed and fell onto a parked car, causing damage but fortunately resulting in no injuries.

Balancing his political ambitions with his film career, Vijay is currently working on his upcoming film “Jananayakan,” which is rumored to be his last cinematic endeavor before fully dedicating himself to politics.
