**Kevin Durant Moved to Tears Discussing Team USA in New Netflix Docuseries**
NBA All-Star Kevin Durant was visibly emotional while reflecting on his experiences with Team USA, as showcased in the new Netflix docuseries “Court of Gold.” This series offers an exclusive look at basketball during the 2024 Paris Olympics, where Durant represented Team USA for the fourth time. In a teaser released on Monday, Durant paused during an interview to wipe away tears while expressing the significance of his journey with the national team.
“I come from neighborhoods where people don’t even talk to each other,” Durant shared, his voice filled with emotion. “There’s so much hate in the world, too. When people get to start laughing and joking for the game of ball, it’s cool to me. So, like, it gets me emotional, dog.”
Durant continues to be inspired by the way basketball brings people together. “It’s crazy to see people travel so long to come see their favorite player play in the Olympics,” he noted. “They send their money, they bring their whole family. It’s just dope to me.”
He added, “The game has saved my life. It brought me and my family out of a lot of bulls—. I’m just grateful for it.”
As one of the prominent stars in the six-part docuseries, Durant stands out as arguably the greatest player to don the red, white, and blue. Although he did not participate in the 2008 Olympics following his rookie season, he has been a key player on gold-medal-winning teams in the last four Games. No player in USA Basketball history has achieved four gold medals, and Durant holds the record for the most points scored by any Team USA basketball player, male or female, while helping the U.S. secure gold in Paris against France.
At 36 years old, Durant has dedicated 17 years to professional basketball, having been selected second overall by the Seattle Supersonics in the 2007 NBA Draft. His accolades include 15 All-Star selections, two NBA Finals championships with the Golden State Warriors, four scoring titles, and 11 All-NBA team selections.
Durant’s impressive resume undoubtedly marks him as a future Hall of Famer, but his passion for representing his country through basketball remains a significant part of his identity.
