Samantha Busch, wife of NASCAR driver Kyle Busch, was emotional on Tuesday after learning that President Donald Trump signed an executive order aimed at making in vitro fertilization (IVF) and other fertility treatments more affordable. This initiative resonates deeply with Busch, who, along with her husband, operates the Bundle of Joy Fund, an organization dedicated to alleviating the financial burdens associated with fertility treatments. The fund has awarded 144 grants totaling nearly $2 million, resulting in the birth of 100 babies.
In an emotional Instagram video, Busch expressed her gratitude, stating, “I’m in tears writing this—today is monumental for families struggling with infertility. Thank you, President Trump, for signing an executive order to expand access for IVF, making it more affordable for American families!” She reflected on her journey of advocacy and the significance of the executive order, which aims to protect and enhance access to fertility treatments.
Busch highlighted the struggles many families face, sharing that the average cost of IVF is around $20,000 per cycle, often without a guarantee of success. She noted that many individuals have had to mortgage their homes or take on multiple jobs to afford these treatments. With 1 in 6 couples experiencing infertility, she emphasized that access to care should be a necessity, not a privilege. “Today is a step forward. Finally, families will have the coverage they so rightly deserve. Thank you again, Mr. President,” she concluded.
The executive order seeks to reduce out-of-pocket costs for fertility treatments and directs the Domestic Policy Council to explore further ways to make IVF and related services more affordable. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt announced the order, stating, “The Order directs policy recommendations to protect IVF access and aggressively reduce out-of-pocket and health plan costs for such treatments.
